Issue Position

It is my unqualified belief that we cannot be a great State without putting forth our greatest efforts in government to protect and defend the institution of public education. A quality public education system is a basic building block of a well-educated workforce that will attract innovation, entrepreneurs and well-paying jobs to our State. Those who would seek to drain away support for local publicly funded schools are, in a most fundamental way, doing harm to the fabric of our society. A strong public education should be considered the bedrock of a strong and prosperous democracy.
